I am writing to share some experiences of my life at a transplant from California to North Carolina. I moved to Creedmoor, North Carolina in 1998. In 2005 my husband and I bought a home on three acres between Creedmoor and Franklinton. I feed deer, raccoons, possum, squirrels, birds and two house cats. As much as I miss the Pacific Coast, I love the change of seasons in my little piece of heaven, Evans Ridge.
Life as I know it, is not without a challenge or two. I was laid off in January, after almost seven years with a local firm. Two of my children live in California and I have four grandchildren that I love from a distance. My youngest child is in the Navy and flies in H53 helos as plane captain. My husband, who is my best friend, is a retired Marine. He suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Syndome. I hope my experiences that I will share here, as a wife, a mom, and a friend, resonates with you.
